this is a real text message i received today.

And I quote:

"Okay. We have a serious FITNESS attire emergency up in here. Girl wearing full-out makeup, a DRESS, tights and flats, catwalking around the gym....so disappointed in the human race right now."

Sent from another American living in Germany, Andy
{pictured below}:

Please note: Andy has never read my blog so I know he didn't see this. Also, the topic of how confusing I find my fellow gym members' wardrobe choices to be has never once come up in conversation between us.
That is to say, this text message was purely out of the blue and - let me tell you - I was laughing out loud when I read it. Glad to know I'm not the only one who witnesses these things. Otherwise, I might suspect I am the subject of some Truman Show-esque social experiment.

Oh, and contrary to what this photo suggests:
1) He is not a major creep.
2) I am not staring at him in loving adoration.

Thank you. That's all.

Jenni, you are hilarious! This post made me laugh pretty hard. I wish I could go work out in Germany and see all the dressed up people working out. Too funny!

hahahahaha I love text messages that just send me rolling into laughter. seriously, what is up with people? I look my absolute worst at the gym. I mean even if I tried to look pretty it would be a waste anyways with all my sweat and such!!!

HATE cat walkers at the gym. It just makes your sweaty ponny tail and oversized t-shirt look worse than they already are

This is EXACTLY the reason why I don't go to the gym anymore and prefer the solitude of outdoor running. I never ever met a deer with make up on while running in the woods. :)))

oh gracious. a DRESS? maybe tights....for exercise...but flats? what's so funny is that this girl probably thought she was hot stuff, but little did she know..she looked ridiculous and even boys noticed her ridiculousness!

p.s. i tagged you today, sweet friend!

hahaha that is amazing! I want to go see these gyms in Germany. I would go there just for the weirdo gym attire. Hilarious!

If only there was as much entertainment at my gym....just sweaty men hogging the weights!

hahahahaha - maybe we're just too closed minded by thinking we should only wear clothes that we can easily move in (not to mention sweat in) at the gym?!

Totally loving the list of support for this photo lol. I'm glad he's not a creep!

and as per SATC Bucket Lists
I own all 10 seasons...they are FAB! You should def do this now, while we're all still waiting out the cold! You must let me know which girl you decide you are!

why on EARTH would one be dressed for the catwalk in the gymnasium? and second, why would one be catwalking in the gymnasium? this is a social experiment in the making...

I just found your blog through your guest post over at Fairytales Are Truths and if I wasn't super tired now and the time was 2am, I'd probably read it all from the beginning. It's just awesome to find a blog like this. My family is Polish, I was born in Germany, I lived in Canada and then America for 14 years, spent a year in London, England and currently live in Switzerland. So I can't say we've got SO much in common, but we definitely have some things in common, ha! This post made me laugh, too. Okay, I'll stop now, but just wanted to say awesome blog!!
